2022 Color of the Year

Since 2000, the Pantone Color Institute has regularly announced a “Color of the Year”. It forecasts the color that will best reflect the year ahead.

Pantone recently announced their 2022 Color of the Year as Very Peri, a periwinkle hue that combines the steady tranquility of blue with an energetic infusion of red. This is the first time Pantone has manufactured a color instead of delving into their pre-existing archive.

"It was really important for us to come up with a new color, because we have a very new vision of the world now," said Pantone Color Institute's Executive Director Leatrice Eiseman. This brand-new Pantone color encourages inventiveness, creativity, and empowerment.

"With trends in gaming, the expanding popularity of the metaverse and rising artistic community in the digital space... Very Peri illustrates the fusion of modern life and how color trends in the digital world are being manifested in the physical world and vice versa," the company's release stated.

As we really start to emerge from an intense period of uncertainty and adjust to the “new normal”, Very Peri is all about embracing new possibilities.
